Research On The Expression Forms Of Contemporary Chinese Urban Theme Oil Painting

Oil painting has been in China for over 100 years.Oil painting on urban themes is an important part of oil painting art,urban theme oil painting attracts the thinking and creation of many Chinese artists.As an important carrier of recording urban development and change,contemporary Chinese urban theme oil paintings witness the process of urbanization in China,and also reflect different urban life,urban problems and living conditions in different development periods.The essay explores the influence and connection between cities and urban oil painting through the four periods of development of Chinese urban oil painting since the twentieth century,and explores the social and cultural origins and artistic concepts of the different periods,thus showing the contemporary characteristics of urban oil painting.The thesis focuses on the expression of urban oil painting,selecting four representative artists and analysing their use of formal language in the creation of urban oil paintings through the interpretation of their works,and summarising the expression of urban subjects in oil painting,so as to better guide and express one’s oil painting practice.The thematic content of the article is divided into three chapters: the first is an overview of contemporary Chinese urban oil painting,which focuses on the concept and development of contemporary Chinese urban oil painting.This is followed by a study of the expression of contemporary Chinese urban oil paintings in relation to specific artists and artworks,summarising the specific characteristics and artistic language of urban-themed oil paintings.Finally,through explores the use of composition,colour expression and flat painting language in the creation of urban oil paintings through the study and overview of the formal language of urban oil paintings in the preceding section,combined with my own artistic creation practice,and describes in detail the origins of the creation of the ’Quiet Time Series’,the ideas and formal language used and the urban scenes that the author wishes to present.
