As the computer and Internet science develops continuously,many new technologies are being used in education.Unprecedented changes in English teaching have taken place at home and abroad.The traditional teacher-centered classroom teaching can no longer meet the needs of ever-changing information knowledge-based economy era.However,the teacherguided and students-centered blended teaching model combines online and traditional teaching methods to fully utilize both modern educational technologies,thus,English learners can move from a superficial level to a deeper level.In order to stimulate junior middle school students’ interest in English listening,information technology will continue to play an important role and help to display students’ initiative and creativity.Based on constructivism,cooperative learning theory,and humanistic theory,this study employs the model of blended teaching in middle school English to try to answer the following two questions:(1)What are the effects of the blended teaching model on the junior middle school students’ listening comprehension performance in English listening test?(2)What are the effects of the blended teaching model on the junior middle school students’ interest in English listening?The research groups for this study were two classes in the second grade of Lanzhou New District No.1 Junior Middle School.The teaching experiment lasted for three months,106 students in two classes(53 students in EC and 53 students in CC)were chosen as the research subjects.In total,the experiment lasted 18 weeks.During the experiment,the EC used a blended teaching model and CC employed a conventional teacher-centered offline listening teaching model.Through a combination of tests,questionnaires and interviews,this paper discussed the effects of blended teaching model on junior middle school students’ listening comprehension performance and interest by adopting qualitative and quantitative methods.After the experiment,the software SPSS24.0 was used to make statistics and analyze the collected data,independent sample T test and paired sample T test were used to make statistical quantitative comparative analysis on the horizontal and vertical dimensions respectively.By adopting blended teaching model,the results show that: on the one hand,the students in EC make greater progress in English listening comprehension performance than the students in CC.Additionally,through qualitative research,it is found that junior middle school students’ listening thinking skills,humanistic quality,cooperative learning ability and listening strategies have been improved;through interviews and questionnaires,the author also discovers that the blended teaching model results in junior middle school students’ significant rise in interest. |
