| The 20th National Congress of the CPC has for the first time written "promoting the digitization of education" into its report,and the integration of digitization and education has become an action program for the future strategic development in the new stage of China.As an important measure to promote the digital reform of education,the blended teaching has a significant effect in making up for the deficiencies,cultivating students’ interest and improving students’ autonomy in English listening and speaking.In addition,the blended learning mode of "online + offline" can bring new teaching ideas for English teaching,and solve the problems of students’ lack of interest,poor autonomy and single teaching form in Grade eight English listening and speaking teaching.Therefore,based on the blended teaching concept,this paper explores the design in English listening and speaking teaching.Firstly,this study uses literature analysis to review the research status of blended learning and English listening and speaking teaching at home and abroad.After that,in English listening and speaking teaching of Grade eight,questionnaire survey and interview method are adopted to find that there are many problems such as students’ low interest,weak learning autonomy,selfefficacy and poor listening and speaking experience.In order to solve the above problems,blended teaching concept is introduced into the design of English listening and speaking teaching activities.By analyzing the teaching objectives,textbook content and learner characteristics,this paper proposed the design principles in English listening and speaking learning activities,which are student-centered,context-focused,listening and speaking equally,and constructs the English listening and speaking learning activity process under the blended teaching concept of online preview before class,offline teaching during class and online consolidation after class.Finally,two representative classes in Grade eight are selected as practice objects.The experimental class adopts blended teaching method based on the learning platform of Ekwing,while the control class adopts traditional single offline classroom teaching.After a one-semester blended teaching experiment,the application effect of junior middle school English listening and speaking learning activities under the blended teaching concept is tested through the three forms of teacher-student interviews,questionnaires and pre and post-performance tests.The results of the study show that the blended teaching design of listening and speaking in junior high school English can solve the existing problems in listening and speaking teaching in junior high school English to a certain extent,and has a certain significant effect on improving learning interest,cultivating learning habits and optimizing learning experience.At the end of this paper,some suggestions are put forward to summarize and reflect on the existing problems in English listening and speaking under the blended teaching concept. |
