Chen ShiZeng Historical Thought Research On Painting

Chen shizeng plays an important role in the history of modern Chinese art,and in addition to his many outstanding works of art,he is also inseparable from his profound achievements in the field of art.His affirmation of the value of literati painting,his view that literati painting was progressive,had a positive impact on the development of Chinese painting.Chen shizeng’s view of the history of painting has had a profound impact on Chinese painting.In the context of modern changes in Chinese painting,Chen shizeng not only resolutely defended the spirit and value of traditional painting,loudly shouted that Chinese painting is progressive,but also introduced Western modern ideas into the interpretation and reconstruction of literati painting,and proposed to take national painting as the main body,learn from each other’s strengths,and reshape the face of literati painting.This paper is divided into four parts,the introduction part introduces the research situation at home and abroad,as well as research ideas and methods.The first chapter mainly analyzes Chen shizeng’s complex cultural background,from family studies and sinology to Western natural history and art,and explores the social and historical conditions and internal reasons for the formation of his historical view of painting.Chapters 2 and 3 study the nationality and progressiveness of Chen shizeng’s view of painting history and conclude that Chen shizeng is neither a selfstyled conservative nor a blind revolutionary follower,and that all his actions stem from his inherent painting ideas that "Chinese painting is progressive" and "literati painting is valuable." Chen shizeng’s historical thinking on painting is based on the affirmation of literati painting,and if the value of Chinese literati painting is fundamentally denied,then Chen shizeng will firmly oppose it.
