Research On Chen Shizeng’s Art Education Thoughts

In the background of the contemporary transformations of Chinese art,Chen Shizeng not only firmly defended the spirits and values of traditional paintings,but also called for Chinese painting to be progressive.He also introduced Western modern thought into the interpretation and reconstruction of literati painting,proposing to take Chinese painting as the major theme,take its strengths and complement its weaknesses,and reshape the face of literati painting.The introduction to Chen Shizeng’s painting ideas and artistic practices into modern art education has had a significant positive impact on the modernization of Chinese painting and has promoted the development of modern aesthetic education.This article mainly discusses the contents and practices of Chen Shizeng’s art education thoughts and explores the illumination of his ideas about aesthetic education to modern art education.The essay is composed of five parts:first chapter is the introduction,which mainly elaborates the objective and the meaning of the study and presents the current state of Chen Shizeng’s research,including his own papers and the works of some experts and scholars;the second chapter elaborates Chen Shizeng’s historical background and family origin,and discusses the socio-historical conditions and intrinsic reasons for the formation of his art education ideas.Chapter three introduces the practice of Chen Shizeng’s art education thought in the social context of that time;chapter four describes briefly the artistic achievements under his educational thought;chapter five analyzes the inspiration of Chen Shizeng’s educational thought to modern art education.
