The prose of Ye Mei,a Tujia female writer,is not only excellent work of Chinese minority writers’ literature,but also a rare one in the field of modern and contemporary prose,with sincere feelings and a wide range of subjects,involving people and events of more than 30 ethnic groups,recording the rivers and mountains of the motherland she has traveled and the local conditions and customs of various places,and having a strong geographical relationship.This study is based on Ye Mei’s prose,using the theory of Literary Geography,to explore the interaction between her prose and geography.The main body of the article is divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction,which analyzes the background and significance of this paper,combs the research status of literary geography at home and abroad,Ye Mei’s prose,and Ye Mei’s literary works from the perspective of literary geography,and aims at the lack of research on Ye Mei’s prose from the perspective of literary geography in the academic circles.This paper puts forward the possibility of studying Ye Mei’s prose from the perspective of literary geography.On the basis of previous studies,this paper defines the concepts of "Ye Mei’s prose" and "geographical space",and differentiates "landscape","literary geographical landscape" and "literary landscape",and finally points out the research methods of this paper.The second part is the main body part,first pays attention to the landscape writing in Ye Mei’s prose,takes all the prose collections published by Ye Mei as the main analysis text,divides the landscape writing into two parts according to the geographical landscape classification in her prose: natural landscape writing and humanistic landscape writing,and analyzes the selection and writing of landscape in Ye Mei’s prose through close reading of the text.Combining with the method of field investigation,this paper explores the geographical genes embodied in Ye Mei’s prose landscape writing;Secondly,according to the actual situation of the specific geographical space constructed by Ye Mei’s landscape writing,it is concluded that her prose repeatedly and emphatically constructs a kind of southwest geographical space including the geographical space of Western Hubei,and further analyses the text from three aspects: the characteristics of the geographical space constructed,the basis of the construction of geographical space and the spiritual implication,in order to observe Ye Mei’s aesthetic tendency and aesthetic personality.Finally,based on Ye Mei’s landscape writing and geographical space construction in her prose,this paper explores the value significance of Ye Mei’s prose from the perspective of literary geography,including the promotion of local development,the contribution to natural ecology,the enlightenment to Tujia Literature Creation and the positive role of literary geography.The third part is the conclusion,which summarizes the overall style of Ye Mei’s prose from the perspective of literary geography and the complementary and interactive relationship between it and the geographical environment,and puts forward a reasonable outlook for the shortcomings of this study. |
