A Research Of East Asian Factors In Braque’s Paintings | Posted on:2024-05-13 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:B R Li | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2555307115480064 | Subject:Fine Arts | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | In 19th century Europe,people enjoyed a very rich material life while creating a great spiritual gap in their hearts.This led to the emergence of modernism,an avant-garde rebel philosophical movement,in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries.Some artists also began to make a series of revolutions and innovations to break free from the shackles of traditional paintings,and Braque was one of them.The mysterious Eastern culture shines on Western artists and sees the dawn of progress.East Asian art also provides thematic reference and theoretical basis for the evolution and innovation of Western paintingBased on the East Asian elements in Braque’s painting,I tried to combine the development process of Eastern elements in European art and culture,using literature,comparative analysis,case analysis,etc.to analyze the root causes of East Asian culture on Braque’s painting art.The first part of this article takes the background of cubism as an entry point to understand the definition of East Asian culture in modern and modern times and the impact of East Asian culture on the introduction of cubism painting,exploring the ideological roots of new visual methods.The last part discusses the difference between Western traditional paintings and modernism inspired by East Asian culture;the second part explores the causes of Braque’s painting style by analyzing the influence of East Asian art on Impressionism and Cezanne’s association with East Asian art.Impressionism was created under the influence of Ukiyoe,a Japanese coloring engraving,and Cezanne is no stranger to East Asian art culture as one of the representative figures of post-Impressionism.He influenced the Beast with the interaction of colors and inspired cubism with a wide face.And Braque was deeply immersed in the Beast before he entered cubism.Cezanne’s great influence on the formation of Braque’s painting style has also been emphasized by Braque himself.The third part examines the association of Picasso and his influence on East Asian art,then analyzes the differences between the styles of Braque and Picasso,and further explores the characteristics of simplification and decomposition and the subsequent development of cubism under the influence of East Asian art.The fourth part examines the gradual influence of East Asian culture on his style of painting with some of the ideas he believes in painting,and further proves that his painting style was gradually formed under the inspiration of East Asian art.In the history of western modern art,Fauvism and Cubism are the two main trends,with Braque figures.The cause of forming the style of Braque’s painting must not be determined by one single aspect.The introduction of Cubism is also the result of the exploration of new visual methods by Braque and Picasso.All kinds of results can’t be traced back without the enlightenment of East Asian culture to the West.The subject of the historical process and development direction of the integration of Western modernism painting and Eastern culture has important research significance in any art field. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Braque, cubism, East Asian culture, Western art, East Asian factor | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
