| This report is based on an English-Chinese simulated interpreting practice in Samsung’s product launch of Galaxy Book series.In this report,the author reviews interpreting practice from the aspects of task introduction,interpreting process,theoretical basis,case study and conclusion.The Interpretive Theory was adopted as the guiding theory in the task since it is ideally suited to guide product launch interpreting.The triangular model of the Interpretive Theory is presented in the theoretical basis.In the case study,the author analyzes typical examples with several common interpreting techniques of free translation,conversion,omission,addition and zero translation.Through reviewing the interpreting process,the author summarizes his strengths and weaknesses at the stages of comprehension,de-verbalization and reformulation,in the hope of further improving his interpreting skills.The author also hopes to explore the characteristics and methods of interpreting for product launch through this practice,so as to provide reference for other interpreting learners and practitioners. |
