’Politics Is Culture’:research On Tang Junyi ’s Political Philosophy

Tang Junyi ’s concept of " politics is culture " is the basis of his political philosophy.Exploring this issue helps to examine how modern new Confucianism inherits and transforms traditional Confucianism,and provides inspiration for contemporary Confucianism innovation.On the whole,it examines Tang Junyi ’s political philosophy,summarizes the overall characteristics of Tang Junyi ’s political philosophy,and reveals his political philosophy with the concept of " politics is culture " as the core.There is a problem of confusing the relationship between morality and politics,and there is also a strong tendency of moral idealization.Tang Junyi ’s political philosophy shows the understanding of the relationship between politics and culture,the relationship between politics and morality,the emphasis on human subjectivity,the concern for morality in the political society,and the expectation of the self-evident humanistic world.All of them are of great value to the modern transformation of Confucianism and the development of current politics.This paper starts with Tang Junyi ’s ideological premise of politics,and combs his understanding of the relationship between politics and culture.Starting from the realistic consideration of political crisis,that is cultural crisis,Tang Junyi explored the cultural basis of real politics and pointed out that political activities are cultural activities.In his view,all cultural activities are the creative expression of spirit and the objectification of moral self.Secondly,it expounds Tang Junyi ’s view of democratic politics and reveals Tang Junyi ’s understanding of human rights,regime and freedom in the relationship between people.Tang Junyi analyzes people ’s desire for power in detail,explains that power depends on mutual recognition among people,regards universal objective value as the necessary factor to obtain power,and then points out that the rational basis of cultural groups and countries is human moral rationality.Thirdly,it sorts out Tang Junyi ’s humanistic and political ideals,that is,he hopes to extend the cultural subject to stand up the political subject of human beings,and carry forward the Confucian virtuous political spirit in the democratic politics that is inevitably required by human moral rationality.Finally,it discusses the political essence understood by Tang Junyi,deeply analyzes his political foundation of nature goodness,the moral practice nature of politics and the humanistic realization path of politics.
