In the era of new media,posters are no longer limited to two-dimensional and static information dissemination methods,but tend to focus on dynamic,digital,and multimedia integrated information dissemination methods.New technology and new materials provide innovative space for enriching poster design language.However,if we only utilize the technological means in new media and ignore the language translation role of new media in the process of poster information dissemination,it will restrict the development and innovation of posters in the new media environment.The study of poster design language translation in new media is a frontier field in the cross development of visual communication design and digital media design.Currently,research on poster design language translation lacks corresponding theoretical support and has not yet formed a systematic methodology to guide design practice.Therefore,this study is based on the theoretical foundation of poster design,combined with the characteristics of new media information dissemination and the aesthetic needs of the public,to sort out the expression forms of posters in new media and the characteristics of design language translation in information dissemination.It deduces the role of poster design in information dissemination,aesthetic value,emotional expression and so on to explore the diversity of poster design language in new media,and expand the design ideas of posters.This study uses different research methods such as literature review,comparative analysis,and case analysis.Beginning with elaborating the basic concepts and connotations of posters in new media,the trends of poster design,the characteristics of new media and traditional media poster design language,this paper summarizes that the changes in new media poster design language are mainly manifested in aspects such as separation from audio-visual to multidimensional visual presentation,from static visual expression to dynamic and static visual expression,and from two-dimensional visual presentation to three-dimensional or multi-dimensional visual presentation.Secondly,on the basis of reviewing relevant concepts such as poster design language translation based on some specific cases,the types of new media poster design language translation are summarized and the functions of poster design language translation in expanding information and extending time are also disscussed.Thirdly,methods and strategies are explored for translating visual language elements such as graphics,colors,and text in poster design through cases studies.Finally,possible directions for the future translation of poster design language are envisioned from the perspectives of innovation in communication technology and breakthrough in interactive experience.This research shows that there are five main types of language translation in new media poster design such as material language translation,form language translation,spatial language translation,dynamic language translation,and interactive language translation,four design language translation methods as symbol transformation,action narrative,interactive experience,and intentional metaphor,three design language translation strategies as aesthetics and creativity of designers,perceived experience needs of users,and technologies including the integration of physical technology,virtual reality,augmented reality and holographic projection technology.The application of poster design language translation theory in poster creation effectively enhances the dissemination of poster information and provides a reference for poster design.
