Research On Film Child Stars During The Republic Of China

A film child star is a film star who is a minor.Film child stars are not only material entities that see through the film industry,social concepts and political demands,but also symbolic symbols that glimpse the transmutation of children’s concepts,the representation of film culture and the climate of the times.The study of film child stars in the Republic of China period is a new path for us to enter the early Chinese film history,which not only reveals the commercial magic of China’s early film industry production,but also reflects the changes in children’s concepts and the evolution of urban modernity in modern China,and has become a new perspective to explore the political appeal of Nationalism,Three People’s Principles and Communism to children.This article attempts to analyze film child stars during the Republic of China from three dimensions.The first chapter examines how film child stars were created during the Republican period from the industrial dimension.Familial style and excavation style are the two paths of film child star production during the Republic of China,and typed shaping,mass publicity and imitation appropriation are effective means to maintain the media image of child stars.The second chapter examines what kind of social concepts were reflected by film child stars during the Republican period from the social dimension.Children are the field of adult construction,and child stars are the ideal carriers of adults.The image shaping of film child stars during the Republic of China period carries the imagination of "child-oriented" home and country,and satisfies the public’s voyeuristic desire and discipline appeal for ideal children.This article focuses on the research perspective of the Republic of China film child stars who have not received much attention,based on the first-hand materials,with "new historical views,new perspectives,and new methods" as the theoretical guidance,in the context of "rewriting film history",combing and re-examining the development process of the Republic of China film child stars,and explores the historical code and cultural key behind the Republic of China film child stars.
