The studies and researches on the history of Jiangnan are an important part of regional history of China. However,in the current research on the history of Jiangnan, history scholars pay scant attention to the internal difference of Jiangnan, and the research on Zhenjiang,Jiangning and other areas is slightly weak.At present,a large number of studies on the history of Jiangnan are mainly focused on the Ming and Qing Dynasties, while relatively ignoring the development and evolution of Jiangnan in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, even earlier periods.Based on the above two points, this thesis will focus on Zhenjiang, which is on the edge of Jiangnan, and the specific case selects Jiao Hill,a famous cultural landscape in Zhenjiang and even Jiangnan,to explore the construction process of its historical and cultural image.Jiao Hill made a career in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. After hundreds of years of development,it reached its peak in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. As a cultural landscape,in Buddhism and Taoism, kingship, literati and even ordinary people all participated in the process of its development and evolution, and jointly constructed this cultural image.Focusing on the basic research methods of history and in the chronological order, this thesis will take the local chronicles of Zhenjiang and Dantu in the past dynasties and the landscape chronicles related to Jiao Hill as the clue to investigate the change process of Jiao Hill in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the Ming Dynasty, the early and mid Qing Dynasty and modern times. The research goal is to clarify the development context of Jiao Hill and the accumulation process of its cultural connotation,to analyze the opportunity and thrust of each evolution of Jiao Hill’s cultural image,to understand the overall context of Jiao Hill’s cultural landscape structure.
