The Influence Of Middle School Students’ Multicultural Differential Experiences In The Moral Negative Domain On Immoral Behavior

Since the beginning of the 21 st century,various nations and countries have been linked by globalization.People’s perception of the differences among different cultures in the multicultural era is called multicultural experience.It has been found that the multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain will lead to an increase on immoral behavior tendency,and when the implicit native cultural identity is high,the impact of multicultural experience on the tendency of immoral behavior can be reduced.So,can explicit native cultural identity play the same role in influencing immoral behavior in the multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain? To explore this question,high school students were selected as the research object in this study,and two experimental studies proved the moderating role of explicit native cultural identity,in the influence of multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain on immoral behavior.Study 1(N = 102)adopted the method of behavioral experiment.manipulating subjects’ multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain through the "news material paradigm",explore the influence of multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain and explicit native cultural identity on immoral behavior.The results show that the multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain leads to more immoral behavior,and the explicit native cultural identity has a significant marginal moderating effect.In Study 2(N = 118),on the basis of study 1,behavioral experiments were used to improve the manipulation of explicit native cultural identity through "picture priming method" and "recall writing paradigm".In particular,"interpersonal interaction method" with more ecological validity was used to manipulate the experience of multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain.At the same time,the "point judgment task" which can hide the purpose of the experiment is selected to observe the real immoral behavior of the participants.At the same time,control variables such as social desirability and social emotion under the epidemic were also measured,and the moderating effect of explicit native cultural identity was tested again.The finding show that:(1)The multicultural differential experiences in the moral negative domain will lead to an increase on immoral behavior among adolescents.(2)A high level of explicit native cultural identity can reduce immoral behavior in adolescents.(3)Explicit native cultural identity plays a moderating role in the influence of multicultural differences experiences in the moral negative domain on immoral behavior.When the individual’s explicit native cultural identity is low,multicultural differences experiences in the moral negative domain will significantly increase their immoral behavior.However,when the individual’s explicit national cultural identity is high,the multicultural difference experiences in the moral negative domain has no significant influence on the immoral behavior.The conclusion suggests that we should continue to strengthen the cultivation and education of teenagers’ explicit native cultural identity and consciously resist the negative influence of multiculturalism in the moral negative domain.To realize the construction of young people’s moral civilization with patriotic education as the core content,and promote the moral and civilized behavior in compliance with rules and regulations.
