| In order to further promote the development of Chinese language exchange between China and foreign countries,the Center for Language Education and Cooperation has launched the "The Chinese Bridge" online group exchange programme,in which universities and language training institutions apply to run special online winter camps.This paper attempts to take the "The Chinese Bridge" online winter camp at Harbin Normal University as an example and discusses the application of the theme-based teaching model to online winter camps,with a view to making a small contribution to international Chinese language teaching and Chinese and foreign humanities exchange activities.Firstly,the paper explains the concept,development,theoretical basis and characteristics of the theme-based teaching model.The questionnaire survey was conducted before the course for 220 participants using the online experience platform of the "The Chinese Bridge" group.The survey was conducted to analyse the basic information of the participants,their Chinese language level,the length of their Chinese language learning,their needs and purposes,and finally set the three themes of hometown,food and recreation to reflect China’s ice and snow culture and Harbin’s regional characteristics,and to show the teaching design of the themes of hometown and recreation.Based on the results of the survey and the feedback from the assignments,the participants will examine the practical effects of the theme-based teaching model applied to the Chinese Bridge Online Winter Camp,reflect on the problems and shortcomings arising from the teaching practice,and give corresponding teaching suggestions,with a view to providing a better understanding of the application of theme-based teaching to the Chinese Bridge Online Winter Camp in the future.The aim is to provide references for the future application of thematic teaching in the online winter camp course "The Chinese Bridge". |
