| Painting creation has been the most intuitive way for humans to depict the world since ancient times. The themes of painting created in different regions and environments vary greatly, but human perception of beauty is fundamentally the same.As researchers and practitioners of art,one should not only focus on the materials and techniques of artistic works, but also explore their deeper meanings. After the Industrial Revolution, the world landscape underwent great changes, and the Western painting school began to see a situation where a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend. However,China was invaded by Western culture,so literati paintings faced new choices.Mucha and Ren Bonian are both active responders and practitioners in this change.Mucha is the representative of the Art Nouveau at the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century, and Ren Bonian is an important connecting link between the past and the future of Chinese literati painting.Mr.Cai Yuanpei once said that "art is the only world language",and the artistic works created by artists in different periods and regions must have internal similarities.Although Mucha and Ren Bonian are two artists from different cultures, regions, and genres, they share certain similarities in their artistic styles and forms. This paper combines theoretical research with illustration creation practice, adopts literature research, comparative research, work analysis and other research methods, through a large number of reading relevant literature, reference and analysis of relevant historical materials, and combined with relevant knowledge of other disciplines, combined with the similarities and differences between Mucha’s figure painting and Ren Bonian’s painting of beautiful women, and conducted targeted theoretical research, focusing on the relationship between inheritance and development,It mainly analyzes the formal characteristics, artistic language and the background reasons for the formation of style in the works of the two painters. The article is divided into six parts: The first chapter gives a brief overview of Mucha’s figure painting and Ren Bonian’s painting of beautiful women from three aspects of origin, status and influence;Chapter 2 is a comparative study of the backgrounds of the two, with the aim of analyzing the formation of artistic styles through their political and economic, ideological and cultural, and life experiences;Chapter three compares and analyzes the female character images in their paintings; The fourth chapter, from the line, color, composition and natural elements of four aspects of its artistic language decorative comparative analysis;Chapter 5,by briefly discussing the current situation of modern illustration design, analyzes the inspiration of Mucha and Ren Bonian’s inheritance and innovation spirit for modern illustration design; Finally, combined with the illustration creation practice of the "Twelve Zodiac Signs" series, this article elaborates.Through the above research and analysis,a conclusion has been drawn that the painting styles of Mucha and Ren Bonian originated from different cultural systems, and there is no distinction between superiority and inferiority.Contemporary painting cannot remain unchanged, and innovation is necessary.Innovation must be based on inheritance, and a common aesthetic taste must be explored in the similarities and differences between the two. |
