The Expression And Application Of China-Chic Elements In Contemporary Chinese Sculptures

The evolution of art is often accompanied by alterations in social culture,gradually revealing distinct regional cultures.The eternal question of how to best pass on and cultivate our own traditional culture is a consequence of globalization’s effect on the national cultures of many nations.The four corners of the world have been captivated by the "China-chic" trend,which melds Chinese traditional culture with the current one,due to the heightened cultural assurance in our nation in recent times.This new trend has aroused appreciation and affection from all over the world,and the China-chic has undoubtedly become an important part of the development of world trend culture.How to face the development opportunity of China-chic and use the contemporary sculpture language with strong visual art and sedimentation sense to reflect the diverse traditional culture of the Chinese nation has become the study topic of this dissertation.This dissertation is broken down into four sections.The initial one examines the research background,research standing,research purpose and importance,research techniques,and research challenges and inventions.The second part combs and expounds the week and development of China-chic culture,compares the similarities and differences between the China-chic culture and the national style culture,and studies the artistic expression forms and application techniques of the China-chic elements.Exploring the inheritance and innovation of contemporary sculpture,based on the China-chic culture,the third part is discussed.The fourth part then delves into the creative subject’s potential for innovation,as well as practical creation,to bolster the author’s prior theory.Through the analysis of the development process and cultural characteristics of "China-chic",this dissertation draws a conclusion on how sculpture art can use the elements of China-chic to innovate,so as to create a series of sculpture works with traditional craft and Chinese knot as the main body.The prevalence of "China-chic" and the utilization of sculpture art for practical creation,combined with popular culture and traditional art innovation,seek to perpetuate the local culture of China,thus stirring the cultural memory of the audience.
