| The translation practice report is based on the English-Chinese translation project of Ferrero Sustainability Report 2021 during author’s internship.The report mainly expounds the four pillars of Ferrero’s sustainability strategy during 2021,which is an informative text with certain publicity function.Based on the characteristics of the informative text,the author analyzes the lexical,syntactic and discourse features of the source text and summarizes some typical translation strategies.The lexical level covers technical and common words.For technical words,the author mainly adopts zero translation and annotation,while for common words,the author adopts amplification and omission,and part of speech conversion.On sentence level,the author primarily adopts the methods of voice change,sentence structure adjustment,division and combination.On discourse level,the author uses maintenance of the cohesion and coherence in source text(ST),and rearrangement of the cohesion and coherence in ST in order to ensure that the translation is faithful to the original text.Finally,by analyzing the translation strategies used in this practice,the author hopes to offer some practical guidance to the E-C translation of similar texts in the future. |
