In recent years, with the deepening of globalisation, our exchanges with Germany have become increasingly close, and many Chinese people are living, working and studying in Germany, which also provides us with channels to learn about Germany. The development of self-media has changed the way information is disseminated,so that we no longer only get information from official TV,newspapers or magazines, but also from ordinary people who can provide us with richer and more personal information through self-media.Chinese people living in Germany can share their daily lives and what they see and hear through online platforms such as Jitterbug, reflecting German life and German culture from multiple perspectives and influencing the perceptions of domestic internet users about Germany. The object of this paper is to study these German-related short videos posted on the self-media of the Chinese in Germany, which show us the cultural differences and integration between China and Germany. The study of these short videos can,on the one hand, improve our understanding of German culture and,on the other hand, provide references for improving the intercultural communication skills of international Chinese language teachers and teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The first chapter of the thesis analyses the background and significance of the study of the original short videos of German speakers in Germany, and introduces the research content, the current situation of the study, the research method and the innovation of the thesis. The second chapter first introduces the specific method of selecting the research sample, then introduces the occupation, reasons for staying in Germany, place of origin and age distribution of the video bloggers;then analyses the topic distribution share of the short video content, and specifically explains the content under each type of topic;finally analyses the four forms of short videos: Vlog narrative narration, sitcom, interview, and real oral broadcast context. The third chapter analyses the cultural differences and cultural integration reflected in the short videos. The cultural differences between China and Germany are mainly reflected in four aspects: material, behavioural, institutional and conceptual. The reasons for the differences are the different geographical and social backgrounds;the cultural integration between Germany and China is mainly reflected in the culture of ideas, food, language and behaviour. The fourth chapter analyses the implications for international Chinese language education through the distribution of the content of the original short videos of the Chinese people in Germany and the cultural differences and cultural integration reflected in the videos. These include implications for improving the intercultural communication skills of international Chinese language teaching students, implications for the use of the i+1 teaching model in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, implications for the use of the situational teaching method and implications for the development of teaching materials.
