This translation practice report is based on the technical documentation of accidents during maritime transport of radioactive material.This translation project will test learning results and apply translation skills and theories to gain experience in translating English for Science and Technology,especially in the field of radioactive material transportation.This translation practice is guided by Newmark’s communicative translation theory.It also gives priority to the feelings of the readers,and on the basis of effectively conveying the information of the source text,the translation is easy to understand and logical.Combined with Professor Li Changshuan’s CEA framework,this paper analyzes it from three aspects: comprehension,expression,and adaptation.This report will be subdivided into six sections.The fourth part is case study,which elaborates the problems and solutions encountered in the translation process through typical cases,and provides reflections on translation practice.The author applies translation theory to actual translation practice and chooses appropriate translation strategies to better complete the translation work.It is also the key points of the translation report.The characteristics of English for Science and Technology are objective,professional and accurate.Compared with other styles,English for Science and Technology is more formal and logical.The style of the translation should be easy to understand,but not colloquial.Considering the translation of professional terms in scientific and technological documents,some methods are summarized,hoping to be helpful to translators engaged in the translation of radioactive materials.
