The "teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods” in international Chinese education has been becoming an important issue.This paper is am to investigate the " teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods” of Chinese teaching at the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia(CIUL).The investigation surveyed 216 students and 20 Chinese teachers of the CIUL through questionnaires and interviews,then finally analyzes current Chinese teaching situation and problems of the "Teachers,Teaching materials and Teaching methods" of Chinese teaching at the CIUL and put forward countermeasures for them.This paper is divided into six chapters: the first chapter deals with the origin and significance of the research’s background,research methods and literature review;the second chapter introduces the design and implementation of overall design of the questionnaire survey,the implementation of the survey and responses of questionnaires;the third chapter makes statistics and analysis on the situation of "teachers",mainly elaborates the situation of "teachers" from six aspects,such as teacher structure and teacher qualifications,then summarizes the existing problems and solutions;The fourth chapter makes statistics and analysis of "teaching materials",mainly elaborates from the sources and types of it,the selection and use of the teaching materials,then summarizes the existing problems and solutions;The fifth chapter makes statistics and analysis of "teaching methods",mainly from two aspects: selection and effectiveness of teaching methods,use of teaching methods and techniques,then summarizes the existing problems and solutions;the sixth chapter is a summary,which analyzes the difficulties in investigation and imperfections of this paper.We found that: there are six problems in "teachers" aspect of the CIUL: the lack of local and Chinese teachers,the lack of Chinese teachers who are good at local languages,the teachers’ Chinese cultural teaching level is not good,the lack of teachers’ professional skills,the classroom organization ability of teachers needs to be strengthened,and the lack of teachers observation and communication;there are five problems in "teaching materials" : the shortage of local teaching materials,the lack of interesting,practical and cultural content of Chinese teaching materials,and the lack of teaching materials database;in "teaching methods",there are three problems: the excessive use of intermediary language,the improper use of teaching methods,and the limited variety of teaching aids.Therefore,the CIUL needs to find solutions soon.The paper puts forward corresponding solutions,hoping to promote the improvement of the quality of Chinese language teaching at the CIUL and promote the continuous development of international Chinese education.
