Research On Unit Integrated Teaching Approach Of High School English Based On Big Ideas

As the concept of Core competence is put forward,quality education has a more comprehensive and specific goal.The new round of English curriculum reform pays more attention to the educational value of subjects,and educators begin to reflect on why the input of massive subject learning time fails to bring about the output of subject core competence.Unit is the cell of curriculum,and the unit integrated teaching is a fulcrum of classroom transformation.The English unit integrated teaching is an important method to implement the core competence of English subject.Big ideas are important starting points to implement the discipline core competence.The unit integrated teaching of high school English based on big ideas takes the cultivation of core competence as the axis,based on the teaching resources and learning situation,centering on the unit theme and standing on the perspective of whole person development.The unit integrated teaching of English unit in senior high school based on the concept of unit leads the unit teaching and builds an integrated and structured integrated teaching unit.So that the Focus of English classroom from language knowledge to focus on the cultural content and educational value of English language,promote the core competence of English discipline rooted in the classroom.There are several problems in the current practice of English unit integrated teaching in senior high schools.The goal of each class hour in the unit is broken,and the explicit concept is blocked;The big ideas in each discourse in the unit are loosely connected and their meanings are not explored deeply.The evaluation of unit teaching ignores the evaluation of big ideas.These problems hinder the cultivation of students’ disciplinary core competence and need to be further optimized.English teachers should explore the educational value of units and refine the concept of units in the way of organizing curriculum content,designing teaching activities and teaching evaluation.Unit teaching content is integrated with unit ideas.According to the relation of big and small ideas,set the class hour target as a whole.Effective cohesion of each text in the unit,excavate the inner connection of each text,deepen the exploration of meaning.In addition,teaching evaluation is carried out closely according to the teaching objectives of units,so as to promote learning and teaching,and to help the generation of big ideas.
