A Study On The Kazakh Translation Of Wine Country

This paper takes the study of the Kazakh version of“Jiuguo”as the topic,based on the relevant theories of translation studies,and takes the Kazakh version of“ Jiuguo ” translated by Turanjiang Honysbai,a famous contemporary Kazakh translator in China,as the research object,to study its translation methods,translation skills and problems encountered in the process of translation.Wine Country,written by Mo Yan,the first Chinese writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature,is a novel completed in 1992.Wine Country is a novel that criticizes reality,and makes bold attempts and innovations in narrative experiments.At first,this novel hasn’t attracted people’s attention in the literary world,and even nobody cares about it.Until 2001,when the French version of Wine Country won the French "Jules Ba Tai Yong Foreign Literature Prize",it began to attract the close attention of scholars,and its translations gradually increased.Through reading the original and translated works,we can find that the works are rich in content and long in length.Therefore,this paper takes the most representative vocabulary in Wine Country as the research object,including four-character idioms,common sayings,dialect words,characters’ nicknames,profanity and so on.Combining the translation methods and principles of Skopos theorie,it sums up the translation methods and skills,analyzes and expounds the problems existing in the Kazakh version,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.Combined with specific translation methods,it is carefully analyzed at the level of words,phrases and sentences.In translating this novel,especially in the translation of abusive language,the translator flexibly and skillfully used a variety of different translation methods and techniques,and finally achieved the translation effect of faithful original text and reproduction of the original style,which can play a positive guiding role in the translation theory and practice of Chinese and Kazakh novels.At the same time,the author believes that while learning from translators’ flexible use of language and translation methods,it is also necessary to study the translation problems and optimization strategies in the novel.This paper is divided into four parts: introduction,text,conclusion and references.The first part is the introduction part,which mainly introduces the research purpose and significance,research status and research trends,research methods and paths,and innovations.The second part is the main body of the article.The first chapter is the original and the Kazakh version of Wine Country.This chapter mainly introduces the original author,the original and the translated author of Wine Country.The second chapter is the translation methods and skills of Wine Country.This chapter focuses on the translation methods and skills used in the novel.Chapter three is the vocabulary translation of Wine Country.This chapter mainly makes a brief analysis of the novel with general vocabulary,basic vocabulary,special words and idioms.Chapter Four,the translation of rhetorical devices in Wine Country,mainly analyzes metaphor,personification,characters and parallelism.Chapter five is the translation characteristics and principles of Wine Country.This chapter mainly analyzes the translation characteristics and principles of the novel based on the three principles of Skopos Theory.Chapter six is the translation problems and optimization countermeasures of Wine Country,which lists some translation problems and optimization countermeasures.The third part is the conclusion of the article,which sorts out and summarizes the main arguments,personal views and achievements in the writing process of the article.After a comparative reading of the original novel and the translated novel,the article puts forward that under the guidance of the three principles of Skopos theorie,it is required to think about problems from the perspective of translation,introduce the original novel and the translated version,and sort out and summarize the strengths,weaknesses and optimization countermeasures of the Kazakh version.Through the above analysis and research,it is intended to provide some reference for cross-cultural novel translation,so as to promote the deeper and more active development and dissemination of literature itself.The fourth part is the reference part of the article,which mainly lists some works,books,master’s theses,journal papers and so on.
