The Nous Problem In Heidegger’s Philosophy

The Νο(?)(?) problem pervades throughout Heidegger’s thought,which is significant for understanding and grasping Heidegger’s philosophical thinking as a whole.Focusing on the Νο(?)(?) problem,this paper not only elaborates Heidegger’s interpretation of the "Νο(?)(?) concept" in ancient Greek philosophy,but also expounds his reflection on the "Νο(?)(?) problem" broadly construed in the whole history of classical philosophy,as well as the "Νο(?)(?) character" embodied in Heidegger’s own philosophical system.From the Νο(?)(?) in ancient Greek philosophy,to the "intuition" as Anschauung in classical German philosophy,then to many such concepts in Heidegger’s philosophical system as "orientating"(Orientierung),"understanding"(verstehen),"ability-to-be"(Seink(?)nnen),"thinking"(denken),this paper addresses the "Νο(?)(?)problem" woven together in Heidegger’s pre and late thought on the basis of analysis of these concepts,so as to advance our understanding of Heidegger’s philosophy from a wholistic perspective.In his interpretation of Νο(?)(?) in ancient Greek philosophy,Heidegger establishes as the fundamental task of thought the "thinking into being"(viz.grasping the being through Νο(?)(?)).In his interpretation of Νο(?)(?) in German classical philosophy then,Νο(?)(?) as Anschauung is revealed as the finite situation of existence and as the infinite orientations of understanding.In Heidegger’s discourse of his own philosophical system,there are three dimensions of the "Νο(?)(?) character" which can be outlined as follows:(1)"Self-reflection" – the self-reflecting Νο(?)(?)exhausts our capacity to self-understand and to self-actualize.i.e.Νο(?)(?) – qua mode of existence which unconceals and recognizes itself in itself,and takes itself both as the purpose and the means to realize it,and,eventually actualizes itself in itself(2)"Finiteness" – the finite Νο(?)(?) is always in the "errancy"(Irre)and ""(Irrtum)(as infinite temporality and infinite fallacy),therefore it unceasingly demands the enduring labor,to overcome all walks of illusions and fallacies in life,and to withhold itself in this errant mode in which Νο(?)(?) constantly approaches,but never arrives at being;(3)"Original unity of thought and practice" – in the Λ(?)γο(?) dominated by Νο(?)(?)authentic practice for the Ursprung in the suspense of meaning.On the other hand,Νο(?)(?) doesn’t abandon the universal,but rather is always maintaining a delicate balance between the concrete(practical)and the universal(theoretical)in the process of pointing to something itself.Through inheriting the problematic of Νο(?)(?) in classical philosophy,Heidegger ultimately develops his authentic understanding of Νο(?)(?).
