Research On Epidemic Prevention Reports Of Liberation Daily (1941～1947) In Yan’an Period

Since ancient times,humans have never stopped fighting pestilence.Among them,epidemic prevention coverage by mainstream media plays a vital role in building the epidemic prevention and control system and enhancing the epidemic prevention and control capacity of the whole society.Therefore,it is necessary to study the epidemic prevention reports of mainstream media.Based on the perspective of health communication,this paper takes the epidemic prevention report of Liberation Daily in Yan ’an period as the research object,and adopts content analysis method to study the construction method and dynamic evolution of the epidemic prevention report,so as to enrich the research content of the epidemic prevention report of mainstream media in Yan ’an period.The study obtained 320 sample articles through screening,and divided all the samples into seven categories according to "topic content,news source,report tendency,title sentence pattern,report type,layout position and report length" to analyze the construction method and evolution process.The findings are as follows.1.Overall,Liberation Daily reported the most epidemic prevention in 1942.The months with the highest cumulative number of reports over the seven years were March,April,May and June.The number of months in which one to five reports were published was the largest.2.From the perspective of topic construction method,"topic content" mainly focuses on "prevention and control work" and "knowledge of epidemic prevention"."News sources" mostly come from "media itself” and "professionals".The most common "reporting tendencies" are "positive" and "neutral." Most of the "title sentence patterns" are "declarative sentence" headings."Report types" mainly include "news" and"popular science and information".Epidemic prevention reports mainly appeared in the second edition of the border region news section or the fourth edition of the comprehensive supplement.The length of the report is mainly 200 to 800 words.3.From the perspective of time,the types of "topics" were slightly different in each year.In 1942,"Prevention and control work" was the main report.In 1943,"knowledge of epidemic prevention" was the main report.In 1945,“epidemic situation" was the main report.In terms of types of news sources,there were four in 1941,five in 1942,and three in 1946.In terms of "title sentence pattern","length of report","tendency of report" and "type of report",the number of"declarative sentences" in epidemic prevention reports is the most,and the most frequent reports are "news" with "200 to 800 words" reported in a "positive" tone.The “layout position" has the characteristics that the layout moves forward and the position being higher over time.The epidemic prevention report of Liberation Daily in Yan ’an period reflects the overall style of health communication of Liberation Daily,namely: the party’s mouthpiece,the people’s position and the improvement of people’s health level.
