The epidemic has been raging for more than three years, and under the strong national prevention and control layout, the domestic epidemic is relatively stable. However, the epidemic prevention work in the border areas of Yunnan still faces a severe test, requiring both a rebound in the domestic epidemic prevention situation and external epidemic prevention input.Border epidemic prevention workers play a crucial role in the tough battle against the epidemic, and their mental health status is not optimistic under long-term and high-pressure work environments.Under the continuous impact of the COVID-19,mental health risks have risen to one of the top ten risks in the world.Mental health is an important source of enthusiasm and motivation for epidemic prevention workers,as well as an important condition for smooth epidemic prevention work.Strengthening the psychological construction of border epidemic prevention workers conforms to the policy requirements of preferential treatment for frontline epidemic prevention workers in domestic epidemic prevention and control work, and is also a powerful measure to ensure the effective implementation of border epidemic prevention work. The work of epidemic prevention is complex and intense, and the epidemic prevention workers bear great work pressure. The JD-R model indicates that high levels of job requirements(job stress)can consume individuals’ work resources, leading to job burnout or causing mental health problems.Psychological resilience can effectively alleviate the adverse effects of work pressure on individuals, and can transform work pressure into internal resources, thereby guiding the healthy development of individuals’ physical and mental health. This study explores psychological resilience and job burnout as mediating variables to clarify the impact of work stress on mental health, providing theoretical basis and useful reference for improving the mental health level of border epidemic prevention workers. This study used a questionnaire survey method, using the Challenging Obstructive Work Stress Questionnaire,General Health Questionnaire,Mental Resilience Scale, and Job Burnout Scale to test 718 epidemic prevention workers in six border counties(cities)in Yunnan.Through statistical analysis of the survey data,we explored the impact of work stress on mental health,as well as the mediating role of mental resilience and job burnout. The research conclusions show that: first, there is a significant correlation between the four variables of work pressure, mental health, psychological resilience, and job burnout among border epidemic prevention workers in Yunnan Province;Secondly, work stress can negatively predict the mental health;Thirdly, psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between work stress and mental health of Yunnan border epidemic prevention workers;Fourth, job burnout plays a partial mediating role between job stress and mental health of border epidemic prevention workers in Yunnan;Fifth, psychological resilience and job burnout play a chain mediating role in the relationship between work stress and mental health of border epidemic prevention workers in Yunnan.Based on the above research and conclusions, the key to improving the mental health level of border epidemic prevention workers in Yunnan lies in reducing work pressure, enhancing psychological resilience, and reducing job burnout.Coordinating the three aspects can have a better effect.
