| This report comes from Beijing Tongxin Carbon and Technology Co.,Ltd.,where the author works.The company’s business mainly involves internet information service,economic information calculation,market research and so on.The author is mainly responsible for the collection and translation of project materials in daily work.Tokyo Olympic Games officially opened on July 23,2021.Beijing Tongxin Carbon and Technology Co.,Ltd.was responsible for writing Observation Report of Tokyo Olympic Games,which was submitted to BOCOG（Beijing Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee）after the closing of Tokyo Olympic Games on August 8,2021.In this project,the author undertook the translation task of Epidemic Prevention and Control Manual for Tokyo Olympic Games and completed the task on time.Epidemic Prevention and Control Manual for Tokyo Olympic Games belongs to the text on disease prevention and control.The choice about language form of this text will be influenced by multiple factors,such as the ideology of the original text,the cognitive level and needs of target language readers.Based on the above features,this report will systematically summarize the translation problems in texts.And it would conduct case studies from the perspectives of words,syntax,paragraphs and writing style based on Eugene A.Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory.The main body of this report consists of five parts,which are introduction,theory and text analysis,task process description,case analysis and conclusion.By analyzing and confirming the type of source text,translation skills（such as literal translation,reverse order,split translation and sentence pattern transformation）are put forward to address existing problems in the translation process.Finally,specific examples are combined to evaluate the translation effect.And the shortcomings in translation practice are summarized.It is hoped that this report can provide reference for publicity texts translation and improve the translation quality of this type of texts. |
