| With the popularization of the Internet and the rise of social networks,it is more and more common for middle school students to use the Internet, and the problematic Internet use behavior is more and more serious.Problematic Internet use refers to a state of obsession and dependence caused by repeated and excessive use of the Internet, which has a negative impact on the development of middle school students’ study, life and physical and mental health.Virtual sensation in the network world affects people’s communication values and behavior patterns, leading to interpersonal distress, individual social communication is affected, and further leads to problematic Internet use behavior, resulting in a vicious circle.Basic psychological needs and self-harmony are important factors affecting the mental health development of middle school students.Ruminative thinking is a cognitive thinking mode of students, which is significantly correlated with students’ interpersonal distress and problematic Internet use behavior, but its mechanism needs to be further explored. It opens new ideas for the prevention and intervention of interpersonal disturbance and problematic Internet use behavior of middle school students, explores its internal influencing mechanism, and finds more abundant and targeted ways of prevention and intervention. In this study, questionnaire survey was used to investigate the students of a university in Guangzhou for a period of three months.Self-reporting scales such as the Comprehensive Interpersonal Relationship Diagnostic Scale and the Problematic Mobile Social Media Use Assessment Questionnaire for Adolescents were used to measure students at 3-month intervals and longitudinal data were obtained twice.A cross-lag model of interpersonal distress and problematic Internet use was established to explore the relationships among interpersonal distress, problematic Internet use behavior, basic psychological needs,self-harmony and rumination. The results showed that:(1)Interpersonal distress and problematic Internet use significantly predict each other.(2)Basic psychological needs partially mediates interpersonal distress and problematic Internet use.(3)Self-harmony partially mediates interpersonal distress and problematic Internet use.(4)Positive rumination moderated the first and last half of interpersonal distress,self-harmony and problematic Internet use model, while negative rumination only moderated interpersonal distress and self-harmony.The results show that there is a two-way vicious circle relationship between interpersonal distress and problematic Internet use.Improving students’ satisfaction degree of basic psychological needs and promoting students’ self-harmonious development can effectively improve problematic Internet use behavior, and cultivating positive rumination thinking can help students reduce interpersonal distress and promote self-harmony.This study suggests that educators can train students’ interpersonal skills through group psychological counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy and other means, and mobilize parents to adopt reasonable educational methods to cultivate children’s positive cognitive mode,so as to jointly promote their mental health development. |
