Problematic mobile social network use refers to the social psychological phenomenon that individuals improperly use mobile social network,resulting in adverse physical and psychological effects.In the context of COVID-19,primary school students studying online from home.Frequent exposure to mobile devices increases the risk of excessive use of mobile social network.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to pay attention to the influencing factors and mechanism of problematic mobile social network use among primary school students and to intervene.In the first study,a total of 972 students from grades four to six in two public primary schools in Guangzhou were selected,with an average age of 11.02±1.01 years old.There were 498 boys(51.23%)and 474 girls(48.77%).The class environment,problematic mobile social network use,basic psychological needs and self-management were investigated by questionnaire survey,and the relationship between class environment and problematic mobile social network use and its mechanism were discussed.In the second study,worked out a group psychological counseling program based on theories such as basic psychological needs.According to the data of study 1,28 students with high scores in problematic mobile social networks and low scores in basic psychological needs were screened out and divided into experimental group and control group,among which 14 students(9 boys,64.29%)were in the experimental group.They received five group counseling interventions over a two-week period.In the control group,14 students(10 boys,71.43%)did not receive any treatment.Both groups received pre-test,post-test and a follow-up test one month later.The results are as follows:(1)The class environment of primary school students is in the middle level,the use of problematic mobile social networks is in the lower middle level,and the basic psychological needs and self-management are in the upper middle level.(2)In terms of gender,there was no significant difference in the total score of class environment,basic psychological needs,problematic mobile social network use and self-management,but from a specific dimension,boys’ scores of order and discipline,competition,learning burden,ability need and social comfort were significantly higher than girls’.At grade level,there are significant differences in the class environment,basic psychological needs,problematic mobile social network use and self-management of primary school students in the total score and partial dimensions.(3)Class environment,basic psychological needs and self-management were significantly positively correlated(p < 0.01),and they were significantly negatively correlated with problematic mobile social network use(p < 0.01).(4)The classroom environment can directly and significantly negatively affect the students’ problematic mobile social network use(β =-0.11,t =-3.51,p < 0.001).(5)Basic psychological needs mediated the relationship between class environment and problematic mobile social network use(IE =-0.14,SE = 0.02,95%CI [-0.18,-0.10]).(6)Self-management can adjust the first half of “class environment→basic psychological needs→problematic mobile social network use”(β = 0.20,SE = 0.05,t = 4.11,p < 0.001).(7)The group psychological counseling intervention in this study can improve the basic psychological needs of primary school students,and reduce the level of problematic mobile social network use.Finally,the educational suggestions,deficiencies and future prospects of this study are put forward. |
