| In the field of Western art,"self-portrait" and "selfie" works are the best proof that artists constantly understand "self" and construct "self".Since early human beings painted their own images on the rock wall,human’s self-image exploration and reproduction has been a tireless process.Artists,as practitioners of artistic language,are especially so.They are eager to understand themselves and restore or reshape their self-image.From sculpture to easel painting to photographic portrait,the self-image presented is constantly changing,and the styles are also various.The self-presentation of artists in their works is a topic worth exploring.The development from "self-portrait" to "selfie" is a linear development route,and the development process of self-portrait is very long.Self-portrait extends from the development vein of self-portrait,becoming a branch line in the development process of self-portrait,and then parallel and interactive influence with self-portrait.Based on Western art history,this paper will sort out the existing data of self-portrait and self-portrait,and use sociology,psychology and art theory to clarify the historical development relationship between the two,and analyze the interaction effect of the two.This paper summarizes the relevance and difference of self-portrait and self-portrait content forms,and uses case analysis to discuss how artists construct "self" through media,create art on the basis of absorbing predecessors’ creation ideas and schemes,and form their own artistic language.At the same time,from the perspective of psychology,this paper explores the creative motivation and psychology of artists when creating self-portraits and self-portraits,analyzes and compares the similarities and differences between the two,and thinks about the motivation and causes of the phenomenon of "mass selfie" in the contemporary context.This paper takes western "self-portrait" and "selfie" works as the research object to analyze the self-presentation of western artists in creation.This article is developed by the introduction part;Firstly,the development of "self-portrait" and "selfie" in the West is reviewed,and the historical path of their inheritance and development is explained.Then,it analyzes the creative motivation and spiritual course of the artist’s self-presentation.Then the content of the two works in the classification research;Then it discusses the artist’s means of creation and the form representation of self-presentation in his works.Through the above in-depth study of western "self-portrait" and "selfie" works,we can learn the ways and methods of artists’ self-construction and transfer them to our own creation. |
