Research On The Historical Materialism In German Ideology

Historical materialism is Marx’s " the first great discovery" and the top priority of our study of Marxism.The academic circles generally agree that German Ideology is a work established by Marx and Engels’ historical materialism.We must return to German Ideology to study historical materialism.Through the interpretation of the text of German Ideology,we can more deeply understand and grasp the basic connotation and main content of historical materialism.The formation of historical materialism is not achieved overnight,which highlights the process of the development and evolution of Marx and Engels’ thoughts.Based on history and reality,this paper combs the important works before German Ideology in order to grasp the development of historical materialism as a whole,and combine the historical materialism with China’s reality to explore the theoretical value and practical enlightenment of historical materialism in German Ideology.Specifically,this paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly describes the background and research status of the topic,and explains the reason and innovation of the topic.The second chapter is the theoretical and practical background of the establishment of historical materialism.Hegel’s philosophy has two sides of revolution and conservatism,Feuerbach’s materialism is not complete,and "real socialism" is only a simple grafting of British and French socialism and German reality,so it needs the appearance of historical materialism in theory.The same is true in reality.After Marx and Engels realized the transformation of their views and positions,it was urgent to liquidate the old philosophical beliefs.At the same time,the capitalist crisis and the class conflicts caused by it further laid a realistic foundation for the establishment of historical materialism.The third chapter is to sort out the development of historical materialism before German Ideology.The importance of the theory of "alienated labor" in Economic and Philosophical Manuscript of 1844 on labor itself and the investigation of social relations indicate that early Marx had the sprout of historical materialism;The proposition of the view that the people create history in Holy Family means further approaching the complete exposition of historical materialism;The scientific concept of practice in Outline of Feuerbach provides a growing point and foothold for historical materialism.The fourth chapter launches the research on the main content of historical materialism.Marx criticizes "abstract human" and then studies "realistic individual",unifies human subjectivity and reality,breaks the binary opposition between nature and history through this concept,and brings nature into history for investigation.German Ideology is the first complete exposition of the law of movement of basic social contradictions,and scientifically explains the fundamental impetus of historical progress through the study of material life itself.The fifth chapter discusses the theoretical value and practical enlightenment of historical materialism.In German Ideology,Marx and Engels not only clearly clarified the basic content of historical materialism,but also thoroughly cleared their philosophical beliefs,making Marxist philosophy formally formed,and laying a solid theoretical foundation for the later research of political economics and scientific socialism by Marx and Engels.Historical materialism still shines with theoretical light in contemporary times,providing the ideological,theoretical and philosophical basis for the development of our theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Under the guidance of historical materialism,we adhere to the people as the center,solve problems in development from the basic social contradictions,and strengthen the ideals and beliefs of socialism and communism,and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization.In short,adhering to and developing historical materialism is the inevitable requirement of adhering to Marxism and the political consciousness of Marxist political parties.After socialism with Chinese characteristics enters the new era,on the way to achieve the second centenary goal,it is of important historical significance,theoretical significance and practical value to return to the text of German Ideology to study historical materialism.
