The National English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2022)clearly points out the importance of the perspective of Activity-based English learning,requiring teachers to apply it into the English teaching,which is good for improving the participation of students and improving their English reading level.Based on the problems encountered by the author,this thesis conducts an action research on improving the teaching and learning of English reading.The purpose of this thesis is to improve students’ English reading ability and English teaching quality.Two main research questions are included in this study:(1)What is the effect of English reading teaching in junior high school based on the perspective of Activity-based English Learning?(2)What are the findings and suggestions in English reading teaching in junior high school based on the perspective of Activity-based English Learning? The research subjects are the students taught by the author.This study lasted for 16 weeks,was carried out according to the procedure of the open research process,in which some strategies were applied to improve the effectiveness of the perspective of Activity-based English learning to the practical teaching.Data were collected and analyzed by means of questionnaire,interview and classroom observation.On the basis of analysis of data collected,major findings of this research are listed as follows: firstly,from the first-round research,as the key focus of English teaching concept,the teachers’ understanding of English learning activities is not deep enough.It’s inevitable that there is a lack of implementation.Students have not been able to carry out effective reading learning.Secondly,from the second-round research,it’s found that there are two factors that affect the effective application of the perspective of Activity-based English learning.Thirdly,in the English reading teaching under the mode of the perspective of Activity-based English learning,students can go deep into English reading learning,improve their reading level and improve their thinking ability,so as to achieve the goal of education and teaching under the core literacy.Based on the above problems and findings,this study puts forward corresponding suggestions in order to further improve the effectiveness of junior high school students’ English reading.The purpose of this paper is to further improve the effectiveness of English reading teaching in junior high school.First of all,for teachers,before the implementation of teaching,teachers should study teaching materials and curriculum standards,combined with relevant teaching ideas,effectively and accurately set teaching objectives in order to carry out the actual classroom teaching activities to do a good job of cognitive paving.In the design of teaching activities,combined with teaching objectives,scientific and reasonable design of teaching and learning activities.In guiding students to carry out classroom reading and learning,timely teaching evaluation of students.Next,for students,under the guidance of teachers,students understand and master the teaching objectives,and actively participate in English reading classroom learning."move" up and patiently extract the evaluation suggestions given by the teacher.After constantly reflecting on themselves,students can constantly break through themselves. |
