A Study Of The Dialogue Of The Characters In The Novel "the Sky Dwellers" And Its Uyghur Translation

The author of the novel The Sky Dwellers is the contemporary Chinese writer Liu Xinglong,who has also been classified as a representative writer of new vernacular fiction.The book is a continuation and re-write of the author’s middle-grade novel The Phoenix Harp,published in 1992.The novel "The Sky Dwellers" illustrates the value and meaning of the lives of the "The Sky Dwellerss" who have been working in rural education for a long time around the 1990 s with delicate brushwork and simple words.The Uyghur version of The Sky Dwellers was published in December 2020 by Xinjiang People’s Publishing House in translation by Daouti Adili.As an important genre of literature,the novel in translation is of great significance.As the central element in a novel,the author usually uses the portrayal of typical characters to express the novel’s thematic ideas,and the description of character dialogue is another direct way of shaping the characters’ images.The novel The Sky Dwellers uses a lot of character dialogue,which plays an important role in shaping the image of the village teacher,rendering the atmosphere,and driving the plot forward.This article takes the translation of character dialogue as the object of study,and analyses the methods and techniques used in the translation of the character dialogue of the novel The Sky Dwellers.It is hoped that the study of the dialogue of the characters in the novel The Sky Dwellers will provide some reference and help for the interlingual translation of minority languages in China,and that this paper will contribute to the study of the translation of the novel The Sky Dwellers.The main content of this article is: in modern and contemporary translation theory,faithful principle,dialogue cooperation principle as the theory basis,the novel "The Sky Dwellers" translation character dialogue translation content,for example,the novel "The Sky Dwellers" character dialogue dimension translation of translation strategies,methods and techniques,and comparative analysis of the original novel and translated dialogue content,find out the problems in the process of dimension translation,and put forward the corresponding optimization measures for the shortcomings.The paper consists of four chapters,divided into three parts: Introduction-Body-Conclusion.The introductory section discusses the reasons for the selection of the topic,the current situation of the study,the significance of the study,the research method and the innovation of the study,so as to clarify the literary value of the novel The Sky Dwellers and the translation research value of the translation.The text consists of four chapters: The first chapter first summarizes the original novel The Sky dwellers,writing background,narrative art and dimensional translation,and then gives a brief overview of the dialogue between the characters in the novel.The second chapter finds out the translation principles and strategies adopted by the translator in translating the novel The Sky dwellers through comparative analysis.The third chapter mainly analyzes the translation methods and techniques used by the translator in the translation process of the novel The Sky Dwellers,and further analyzes them together with examples.On the basis of the study of the third chapter,the fourth chapter points out that in the study of character dialogue translation in the novel The Sky Dwellers,the translators have inaccurate translation of some words,unequal expression of some characters’ dialogue information,and improper translation of some sentences.The author puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the existing problems.The concluding section summarises the process of writing the thesis and the main ideas of the thesis as a whole.Through the analysis,this thesis concludes that translators should translate characters’ dialogues as closely as possible to the original text,so that the readers of the translated text have the same reading experience as the readers of the original text,and make reasonable use of various translation methods and techniques.
