In the 1930s,left-wing theatre,as a major mode of expression and concrete realization in the literary world, had its own qualities of direct communication with the target audience, foreshadowing the inevitable emergence of theatre popularization. As a unique presence in the popularisation of left-wing theatre, the Ding County Peasant Theatre Experiment, based on the masses of peasants and rooted in the soil of the countryside, combines left-wing theatre with "popularisation",turning the popularisation of theatre from theory to reality through practice, focusing on the feelings of the theatre subjects, innovating the theatre space, drawing on traditional nutrients, injecting new vitality into This paper will examine the theatre of the left-wing and the popularisation of Chinese theatre. This paper will explore the motivation for conducting the peasant theatre experiment in Ding County by discussing the specific practices and dilemmas encountered in the process of the left-wing theatre popularisation movement. It will also analyse the important role of the experiments in peasant theatre in Dingxian in promoting the popularisation of left-wing theatre. It analyses how the peasant theatre of Ding County enlightened and educated the public in the process of playwriting and performance, and how it truly achieved the popularisation of theatre. The first chapter begins with the theoretical construction and concrete practical activities of left-wing theatre in the early stages, and provides a background for the ensuing discussion of the experiments with peasant theatre in Ding County.Chinese left-wing theatre was gradually formed and developed in response to the political struggles in China under special historical circumstances, and reflected the different aspects of the contending forces and revolutionary movements in the context of the times with vivid creative performances.Along with the multiple variations of theatre’s own development and the needs of the times, the peasant theatre experiment in Ding County began to explore a new path for the development of popular theatre under the impetus of the Ping Church. The second chapter looks at the creation and performance of the Ding County Peasant Theatre Experiment, and analyses and discusses how the Ding County Peasant Theatre Experiment connected with the public in terms of content and form, and realised the popularisation of theatre. The plays of the Ding County Peasant Theatre Experiment were created with realism in mind, taking the countryside and the peasants as their objects of creation, reflecting the hard life of the peasants, revealing the cruel social reality, striking at the essence of the contradictions in rural society, and creating a new image of the people;taking the peasants as the main subject of theatre reception, and creating a "new style of performance" in response to the preferences and appreciation habits of the people."In the creation of the play, the actors and the audience become one, making the peasants feel that they have become the masters of the peasant theatre. The third chapter analyses and discusses the value and significance of Ding County’s peasant theatre experiments in the process of deepening the practice of popularising theatre. In their experiments,Xiong Fuxi and others did their best to promote theatre with the peasant audience as the starting point and the point of belonging, and even planted it in the vast soil of the countryside;the innovation of the performance space broke through the original theatre plot to a certain extent and gained more room for interpretation;the experiments drew on the power of folk culture and traditional opera to promote theatre performance in the countryside and thus establish a literary language system and discourse system for the peasants The project is also an experiment in using the power of folk culture and traditional opera to promote theatre performances in rural areas, thereby establishing a literary and artistic language system and discourse system for farmers and educating them.
