The psychological problems of primary school students are getting more and more attention in today’s society, especially the senior primary school students are in an important stage of transition from childhood to adolescence, and their psychological resilience is particularly important for future study and life.Psychological resilience is an important part of positive psychology, and also an important indicator to measure the degree of mental health.Especially at present, teenagers commit suicide or other malignant events happen from time to time. How to cultivate their ability to resist setbacks and improve their psychological resilience has become an urgent task.In this study,a mental toughness curriculum program was developed based on the stage change model with fifth grade students in an elementary school in L province as subjects, and implemented through the pedagogical approach of mental health classes.A total of 365 fifth grade subjects were selected to administer the Mental Toughness Scale for Adolescents, and 333 subjects were finally screened to analyze their current mental toughness in terms of gender, whether they were class leaders, and whether they were only children.A total of 70 valid subjects with a mean age of 10.31±0.47 years were screened.During and after the experiment, two students with poor pre-test scores were selected and interviewed for a case study on their mental toughness, and the experimental effects of the mental toughness program were investigated in both quantitative and qualitative terms. It can be seen from the research results that the overall and all aspects of psychological resilience of primary school students in grade five are well developed. There is no significant difference in gender and whether the only child is a child, but there is significant difference in whether the class leader is a class leader. After eight weeks of psychological resilience promotion courses based on the stage change model, the pre-test and post-test scores of emotional control, positive cognition, goal focus, family support, interpersonal support factors and total scores of the fifth grade pupils in the experimental group were significantly improved. Two months after the end of the experiment, there was no significant difference in the overall level of psychological resilience, which also showed that the experimental study was effective and sustained.Through qualitative analysis, the subjects’ emotional control, positive cognition, goal focus, family support and interpersonal support factors were improved, and the overall level of psychological resilience was improved. On this basis, the following educational suggestions are put forward:(1)Pay attention to the anti-frustration education of primary school students and improve their psychological resilience level.(2)Guide students to establish positive cognition and master the methods of regulating bad emotions.(3)Guide students to attach importance to peer friendship and family support, and improve students’ social support system.(4)Guide students to set up lofty ideals and formulate specific plans to realize their ambitions. |
