Song Dynasty Military Music Research

Taking the military music of the Song Dynasty as the research object,this paper explores the use occasions of military music in the Song Dynasty,the configuration of orchestra instruments,the music suite,and the system of military musicians in the Song Dynasty,and finally concludes that the military music of the Song Dynasty has a certain propaganda nature and exists and develops as a propaganda tool for the political ideas and ideas of the rulers of the Song Dynasty.The paper is divided into five parts,the first part of which is the use scenarios of military music in the Song Dynasty,which mainly analyzes the different occasions,functions and audiences of military music used in the Song Dynasty in three scenes: ceremonial activities,military activities and entertainment activities.The second part specifically discusses the configuration of bands and instruments used in military music in the Song Dynasty,and sorts out the characteristics of military music bands and instrument configurations in the Song Dynasty by combing the forms of drum music,Yan music,and hundred operas that appear in military music,so as to lay a foundation for elaborating the characteristics of military music.The third part specifically analyzes the military music used in the Song Dynasty,including the evolution of propaganda songs and drum suites,songs,miscellaneous operas,and military ditties,and sorts out the specific musical forms of military music in the Song Dynasty.The fourth part sorts out the specifications for the use of military music in the Song Dynasty,and its music workers often use the forbidden army as a guide,which lays the foundation for ensuring the smooth use of military music in the Song Dynasty,and also provides a guarantee for the propaganda function of military music.The author believes that the Song Dynasty military music as a musical form is inherently highly propagandistic,that is,as a propaganda tool to convey the political ideals and ambitions of the rulers,and finally analyzes how this propaganda function was formed.This article focuses on the discussion of military music in the Song Dynasty,and the ultimate purpose is to present its functional particularity and era particularity.
