A Report On Consecutive Interpreting Of Hubei Provincial Museum Commentary

This report is based on the interpretation of the commentary of Hubei Provincial Museum from Chinese to English for two foreign guests named Saman and Ryann.They visited the museum on September 24 th,2022 and the whole process lasted about 2 hours.The report has five chapters.Chapter one is task description,which includes the task background and the entrusters’ requirements.Chapter two details the whole process of this interpretation including the pre-interpreting preparations,while-interpreting process,and post-interpretating feedback and self-reflection.Chapter three briefly introduces the guiding theory of this interpretating practice,Interpretive Theory,and the triangle model of it.Chapter four is case analysis,illustrated from two aspects: nonverbal language applied in interpreting(posture and intonation)and strategies utilized in interpreting,including conversion,addition,omission and reconstruction.Chapter five is the conclusion,in which gains and losses in this practice are summarized,as well as some suggestions for the interpretation of the museum commentary are stated.
