Verb reduplication is a common language form in Chinese. As a common verb reduplication,“V 一 V” is an important grammar point in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education also lists it as a second-level grammar item.At present, the research on “V 一 V” mainly focuses on Chinese ontology research, but the corresponding teaching research is relatively few.As a new grammar theory,“Trinitarian Grammar” highlights the use of “typical context”and puts forward the theory of “form-function-context”,which provides a new teaching idea for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Therefore, taking the “Trinitarian Grammar” as the theoretical framework, this paper studies the characteristics and functions of “V 一 V” from the perspective of ontology, and analyzes the causes of errors made by international students when using “V 一 V”.Finally, based on ontology and errors research, this paper proposes relevant suggestions and an instructional design for the teaching of “V 一 V” to make up for the shortcomings in the current academic research. The first chapter is the introduction. This chapter will describe the relevant research background of this paper from the significance of selected topic, research overview, research methods, etc. The second chapter is the study of “V 一 V” based on “Trinitarian Grammar”.Based on the previous studies of verb reduplication, this chapter analyzes and summarizes the formal structure, function and typical context of “V 一 V” from the perspective of “Trinitarian Grammar”.First of all,we discuss the nature of “V 一 V”,divide it into verb reduplication, explore the syntactic function of “V 一 V”,and summarize the formal structure of “V 一 V”.Secondly,we analyze the grammatical meaning and limitations of the structure, and sum up the function of the structure by combining the sentence category distribution of “V 一 V”.Finally, combined with the formal structure and functional role of “V 一 V”,we analyze the subjective expression of “V 一 V”,and concludes the typical context of this structure in teaching and daily life from the starting point of real life and teaching use.The third chapter is the error analysis of verb reduplication “V 一 V”.This chapter is based on the A-level monosyllabic verbs that can be used for “V 一 V” in the Outline of Chinese Level Vocabulary and Chinese Character Grading, and searches the use of “V 一 V” by foreign students in the global Chinese interlanguage corpus and HSK dynamic composition corpus, analyzes the main types of errors in this structure, including misuse, misaddition, and omission, and analyzes the reasons for these errors on this basis. The fourth chapter is the teaching suggestions and teaching design of "V 一 V" based on “Trinitarian Grammar”.Based on the previous research, combined with the theory of “Trinitarian Grammar” and the characteristics of “V 一 V” itself, this chapter puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions from two aspects of teachers and students, and carries out teaching design for “V 一 V”,providing some reference for the future teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. The fifth chapter is the conclusion. This chapter summarizes the main ideas of this paper and the shortcomings of the paper.
