A Critical Study Of Contemporary Digital Fetishism From A Marxist Perspectiv

Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has attached great importance to the construction and development of the digital economy,made a unified layout for the construction of a digital China from a national strategic perspective,promoted high-quality socio-economic development,and provided strength for Chinese path to modernization.With the accelerated implementation of the plan to facilitate development of the digital economy in the 14 th Five-Year Plan period across the country,the digital economy has become an important engine for "stabilizing growth and promoting transformation",and has important strategic significance in the development process of socialist market economy.However,with the accelerated progress of global economic globalization,Western capitalist countries are still unable to overcome their inherent fundamental contradictions.The insatiable pursuit of capital for surplus value also makes the negative impact of commodity fetishism erode the spirit of contemporary people,and extends to socialist countries with the pace of globalization.To judge China’s economic development,we need to look at speed and more importantly,pay attention to quality.We must be soberly aware that China is still in the primary stage of socialism and there are still many unstable factors in economic development.Against the backdrop of a community of common destiny for all mankind,in the process of building a digital community of common destiny,facing the turbulent global economic environment,it is urgent to prevent and respond to the adverse effects that digital fetishism may have on the healthy and stable development of China’s socialist market economy,and to explore scientific solutions for the healthy development of the global digital economy from both theoretical and practical perspectives.Marx’s critical theory of commodity fetishism starts with "commodity",analyzes the capitalist mode of production,reveals the mystery of capital movement,and thoroughly analyzes and criticizes the capitalist system.Taking the Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844 and the Capital as the boundary,Marx’s research on commodity fetishism can be divided into three stages,namely,from the discovery of "worship of things" to the theory of alienated labor is the preparation stage;from the discovery of "materialization of social relations" to the initial expression of the core of commodity fetishism is the initial formation stage;the systematic and complete exposition of commodity fetishism is the final stage.The research includes the revelation of the source of the mystery of commodities,the demonstration of the essence of commodity fetishism,and the exploration of the ways to dispel commodity fetishism.It is an important part for us to understand the core and essence of Marx’s theory,and also has important theoretical guiding significance for the development of China’s development of the digital economy,under the logic of coupling and collusion among digital,industry,and power,"digital" has become a supernatural and mysterious force,becoming people’s "religious" beliefs and highest worship.According to Marx’s expression this phenomenon is "fetishism".As an extension of commodity fetishism in the new era,digital fetishism is a new form of commodity fetishism in the contemporary historical context,which has connections and differencesis to the commodity fetishism which was pointed out by Marx.In contemporary digital fetishism,the reversal of human-machine relationships,the strengthening of labor exploitation by capital subjects,and the unequal power between data producers and possessors are all new manifestations of the contradictions in the commodity society in the digital age,resulting in: digital forcing human to quantify themselves,forcing the general public to enter a panopticon;Algorithms promote consumerism culture and interfere with the construction of mainstream values;The deep exploitation of digital hidden labor has widened the social wealth gap;Digital monopoly damages fairness and justice,and there is a potential negative impact of the digital recession crisis.These chaotic phenomena have to some extent hindered the healthy development of the socialist market economy and the construction of socialist mainstream ideology.Whether facing the development of the real society or the needs of the development of the virtual society,the study of Marx’s critical theory of commodity fetishism has always been the basis,which can help us to analyze the contemporary digital fetishism more correctly and recognize its essence;Peel out the conflicting points from the chaos and guide us to actively prevent and deal with the negative impact it may bring.At the same time,it also provides inspiration for leveraging the advantages of the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and scientifically sublating digital fetishism better.The initiative of "Digital community of common destiny" is a golden idea proposed by China for other major powers,a Chinese solution and wisdom provided by China to the
