A Probe Into Jin Yuelin's Theory Of Fact

Jin Yuelin’s philosophy is unique in the modern Chinese philosophy circle,which relies on logic construction and combines two completely different thoughts of China and the west.It can be said that what he has constructed is a brand new Chinese philosophy.The academic circle usually divides Jin Yuelin’s philosophical thought into three aspects: logic,ontology and theory of knowledge.The theory of fact is an important part of Jin Yuelin’s theory of knowledge.The source of Jin Yuelin’s theory of fact was mainly learned from the fact-related thoughts of western analytical philosophers Russell and Wittgenstein,but on the basis of criticism and inheritance,he reconstructs the theory of facts,maintained that fact is a mixture of the given and idea,and explained and demonstrated in detail what are and how to form the given and idea.In addition,Jin Yuelin also expressed facts in the form of logical symbols,and discussed the composition and characteristics of facts.Although some scholars such as Xunzi and Zhang Dongsun had covered knowledge or theory of knowledge before Jin Yuelin,they were not systematic or only limited to the level of ideas.Jin Yuelin’s theory of knowledge was not limited to any level of ideas or external things,but the "Realistic philosophy" he emphasized had covered both of them.Although Jin Yuelin’s theory of fact has some limitations,it does not prevent it from providing a new solution for the later generations on the theory of knowledge and the thinking of value problems.
