| With the improvement of living standards and the accumulation of wealth,more and more people are immigrating out of consideration for their children’s education,living environment,medical system,financial problems,taxation and other needs.In view of this,the translation of immigration application materials is of great significance.This report selects the engineering contract in the Australian 188A immigration application materials as the translated text,and conducts text analysis under the guidance of communicative translation theory.The translator analyzes and discusses from the aspects of lexical level and syntactical level,and uses translation methods such as literal translation,amplification,and conversion to translate the text,so as to make the target language readers have the same reading experience as the source language readers.Through this translation practice,the translator finds that Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory has guiding significance for the translation of engineering contract texts in immigration application materials[1].Here,the translator hopes that this translation practice can provide some reference for the translation of engineering contracts in the relevant immigration application materials in the future. |
