| The source text for this translation practice is selected from the fifth edition of Corporate Finance:Theory and Practice.This report first locates the difficulties encountered in the translation and analyzes them,trying to work out a better solution to guarantee the quality of the translation.By applying the CEA framework,priority is first and foremost given to the full and correct understanding of the financial terms and complex sentences in the source text,the background information and the textual style.On the basis of full and accurate understanding of the source text,this report locates in the translation typical examples at the lexical,structural and discoursal levels and analyzes how to achieve faithfulness in translation,expressiveness in appropriate forms and consistency in style by adaptative strategies,which can be summarized as:(1)being faithful to the original text for accuracy;(2)proper additions and deletions for expressiveness;(3)unification of styles between technicity and generality.It is expected that this report may provide reference to E-C translation of financial texts and relevant translation studies. |
