| With the development of economy society,science and technology plays an increasingly important role in social production and life.Accurate translation of scientific and technological texts is conducive to scientific and technological exchanges between countries.Identifying Potential Gaps in U.S.Coast Guard Arctic Capabilities discusses the environmental characteristics of the Arctic region,analyzes the current actions taken by the United States Coast Guard in the Arctic and the future strategic direction.The original text contains a large number of passive structures,and it is difficult to accurately translate these passive structures in this report.After analyzing the characteristics of the passive structure of the original text,the author takes the first and second chapters of the original text as examples to explore the translation methods of the passive voice in English for Science and Technology,and summarizes several translation strategies and methods suitable for this report: translating the passive structure into Chinese active sentences,translating into Chinese passive sentences,and translating into Chinese judgment sentences.By using the above translation methods,the translations obtained from the first and second chapters are more in line with Chinese expression,and the quality of the translation is improved. |
