| As a new qualitative evaluation method, portfolio evaluation has incomparable advantages compared to traditional evaluation methods. It purposefully and systematically collects and displays students’ learning achievements and process works over a period of time, and helps students and teachers understand their actual situation and shortcomings based on certain evaluation standards. It can also help students reflect on their future improvement space, which is conducive to cultivating students’ comprehensive development.Up to now, most research on portfolio evaluation has focused on teaching in primary and secondary schools and universities, with relatively little research on the vocational school stage. However, for vocational schools, portfolio evaluation is a broader application scenario. On the one hand, due to the psychological characteristics and weak grasp of basic knowledge of vocational students, they generally have problems such as aversion to learning, low interest in learning, and weak self-directed learning ability.Traditional summative evaluation methods cannot help vocational students experience the joy and sense of achievement of learning; On the other hand, the goal of secondary vocational education is more inclined towards the cultivation of practical abilities. The main purpose of secondary vocational schools is to focus on employment, and the pressure for further education is not as high as that of ordinary high schools. These situations provide more favorable practical conditions for the implementation of portfolio evaluation, such as more abundant time and curriculum resources. Therefore, the application of portfolio evaluation in the teaching of "Applied Writing" course for vocational secretary majors can truly play a role in promoting teaching through evaluation and promoting mutual learning between teaching and learning.Based on the theory of multiple intelligences and the theory of promoting learning, this research takes 39 first grade classes of secretary major in a secondary vocational school in Nanning,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, where the author works as an intern, and uses action research, investigation and research, teaching case method and literature method to explore how to apply portfolio assessment to the teaching of Applied Writing course of secretary major in secondary vocational schools. This study will revolve around the following questions: How to effectively apply portfolio evaluation in the teaching of "Applied Writing" course in vocational secretary major? Can portfolio evaluation enhance the learning interest,self-learning ability, cooperation and communication ability, and reflective ability of vocational secretarial students in the course of "Applied Writing" ? This study consists of three stages, namely the preparation stage before teaching practice, the implementation stage of teaching practice, and the presentation stage of the portfolio. After data analysis and discussion, this study found that the evaluation of the teaching application portfolio of the "Applied Writing" course in vocational secretary majors can significantly improve vocational school students’ learning interest,self-learning ability, cooperation and communication ability, and reflective ability. In addition,in order to prevent portfolio evaluation from becoming mere formality,it is necessary to strengthen communication with students, inspect and supervise the authenticity of students’ works in the process of teaching practice.Teachers should also do appropriate demonstrations, and teaching design should naturally be embedded in portfolio evaluation. At the same time, support from schools and educational management departments is also needed.Although the research conclusion concludes that the effectiveness and scientificity of the teaching portfolio evaluation application of the "Applied Writing" course in vocational secretarial majors are still limited, and further improvement is needed. We sincerely hope that this research will promote and inspire the teaching of the course "Applied Writing" in vocational schools. |
