The romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty,which is the historical romance of the Ming Dynasty that Chronicles the ancient history from Pan Gu to creation of the world to the fall of the Shang Dynasty.It consists of five works,namely Biographies of Twelve Dynasties compiled before the Nations,Biographies of Pan Gu to Tang Yu,Biographies of the Xia Dynasty,Biographies the Shang Dynasty,and Biographies of the Creation of the World.The romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty is the last work in the historical romance of Ming Dynasty.Because it draws on the creation method of historical romance,and its content is difficult to verify the ancient history,it has two characteristics of historical romance and myth.From the perspective of the versions and authors of the romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty,the Biographies of Twelve Dynasties compiled before the Nations was created and printed by the bookseller Yu Xiangdou,describing the history from the creation of Pan Gu to the fall of the Shang Dynasty,while the Biographies of the Creation of the World is a work of additions,deletions and changes based on the previous books by Zhou You.The Biography of Pan Gu to Tang Yu,Biography of Xia Dynasty,and Biography of Shang Dynasty should have been written by Yu Jiyue,who published it.The name Editor Zhong Xing was assumed to be someone else’s name.These three works continue successively in terms of content,respectively recounting the development and collapse of Pan Gu from the creation of the world to Tang Yao and Yu Shun,Xia and Shang dynasties and the change of dynasties.They are different from the Biographies of Twelve Dynasties compiled before the Nations and reinterpreting the ancient history.From the perspective of story origin and text generation,there are many records of ancient history in historical biographies and literary works since the pre-Qin Dynasty.During many years of development and change,the initial sporadic records gradually developed into a scale and formed a system,laying a solid premise and foundation for the birth of the romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty.The text generation of the romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty also draws on the historical biography books and various literary styles,mainly adopts the creation method of imitating the historical biography.On the one hand,it obtains the theme and materials from the historical biography,learns the narrative mode of the historical biography,and inherits the creation purpose of the historical biography.On the other hand,it also absorbs and learns from the previous literary works and myths and legends in the plot content.And in the process of creation,imagination,performance,outline the magnificent ancient history.In terms of ideological implication,the romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty mainly presents the ideological characteristics of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,and the intention of moral education to encourage good and punish evil.As far as the artistic features are concerned,the romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty adopts the chronicle narrative structure and omniscient narrative perspective.The overall character shaping presents the characteristics of type,but also has a unique character image;Language in both classical Chinese and vernacular at the same time presents the characteristics of plain and plain,popular shallow rate.Through the overall study of the romance of ancient history in Ming Dynasty,not only helps to enhance its systematic understanding,but also can further understand the characteristics of creation and the development of the historical romance of the Ming Dynasty.
