Andrei Platonovich Platonov(Андрей Платонович Платонов)was a famous writer of the Soviet period.He had a difficult life and a rough road to literary creation,but left his readers with a large number of excellent literary works.The three Central Asian novels Sandy teacher,Takyr and Dzhan are representative of the writer’s.Sandy teacher was published in 1927,while Takyr and Dzhan were written during Platonov’s first trip to Turkmenistan in 1934 and his second trip to Turkmenistan in 1935.The three novels are all set in the desert region of Gentral Asia,and write a story of the desert children leading their native people to a happy life.This thesis attempts to analyze Platonov’s Central Asian-themed novels Sandy teacher,Takyr and Dzhan from the perspective of literary geography.The thesis consists of four parts.The first part introduces the background and significance of this thesis,compares the state of research on Platonov at home and abroad and points out the main content of the thesis,its key points,the methodology used in the research and the sources of the corpus.The second part provides a brief overview of literary geography that analyzes the influence of Turkmenistan’s natural geography on Platonov’s Central Asian-themed novels.In the third part,further analysis the geographic space of desert,rural geographic space,and urban geographic space in the three novels,as well as the geographic imagery of Karakum Desert and desert greenery.The geographical space of the desert,the geographical space of the countryside,and the geographical space of the city,as well as the physical geographic imagery of the Karakum Desert and desert greenery,are further analysed in the three novels.The fourth concludes by exploring Platonov’s profound thoughts on the relationship between human and nature as reflected in the three novelsAn analysis of Platonov’s Central Asian-themed novels will not only reveal the writer’s reflections on the relationship between human and nature,but also will enrich the results of Platonov’s research Domestic and international.Meanwhile,it can broaden the field of Platonov’s research and provide examples for the study of literature and geography. |
