Report On The Practice Of Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpretation For CCTV Documentary "The Forbidden City 100

As China’s economy advances amid the backdrop of deepening globalization,Chinese culture going global is accelerating.The Palace Museum,as a representative cultural symbol of Chinese traditional culture,has been a source of cultural resources.The cultural connotations and characteristic vocabulary of the Forbidden City have posed challenges to interpreting.Interpreters need to improve their interpreting abilities through various interpreting strategies and techniques to ensure accurate and fluent information transmission,while considering the transmission of cultural characteristics.This interpreting practice is a Chinese-English simultaneous interpretation of the first 15 episodes of CCTV documentary "The Forbidden City 100".The author of this report has applied the Three-Dimensional Translation Transformation Theory of Ecological Translatology to get into the bottom of the problems encountered in the interpretation practice during the on-site interpretation,which are divided into three kinds: inappropriate use of language,inadequate interpreting of Chinese cultural-specific words,and insufficient expression in communication.Consequently,to solve these problems,the author of this report approaches the problems by attempting to stipulate corresponding solutions,including interpreting reduction and direct interpreting strategies in the language dimension,context-based interpreting and semantic addition strategies in the cultural dimension,and implicit information supplementation and collaborative interpreting strategies in the communication dimension.By applying these strategies,the author aims to generate a target language most suitable for the interpreting ecology.The author utilized the three-dimensional transformation method to analyze and reflect on the interpretation practice,attempting to enrich and expand the post-interpretation analysis perspective to a certain extent.
