Metaphor Studies Of Li Zishu’s Novels

Li Zishu is a writer with distinctive characteristics in the Malaysian Chinese literary world.Self-taught,she has great vitality in her literary creation.In the past 30 years,she has never stopped writing,and has been involved in poetry,short stories,essays,novels and other literary styles.She has been pioneering,innovating and breaking through herself in the process of continuous attempts.When we focus on Li Zishu’s novels,we can find the influence of metaphor on her creation.Her novels are deep,delicate and treacherous,which impact the readers’ senses with a strong sense of image,create an atmosphere of light and dark alternation with its unique context,and hide deep meaning in the reality.However,at present,there are not many studies on metaphor in Li Zishu’s novels in academic circles,and most of the existing studies are focused on the study of a single article or a single collection,without systematic investigation.Therefore,this paper cuts into Li Zishu’s novels from the perspective of metaphor,with a view to enriching the interpretation of Li Zishu’s novels and exploring the creative value of metaphor writing in Li Zishu’s novels for the metaphor theory itself.This paper consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction,which first reviews the creative background and research status of Li Zishu’s novels,explains the researchability of the research object,and then explains the theoretical and practical significance of the metaphor research in Li Zishu’s novels,clarifying the research value.The second part discusses the relationship between literary metaphor and literary narrative by reviewing the theory of metaphor and its evolution,and defines the metaphor studied in this article.The third and fourth parts are the main body of the paper,which respectively study the metaphorical writing of Li Zishu’s novels from two aspects:the expression of metaphors in Li Zishu’s novels and the formation mechanism of metaphors.The third part mainly studies the metaphorical writing of Li Zishu’s novels through close reading of the text and combining with existing metaphorical theories,mainly from three aspects:the common imagery metaphors in Li Zishu’s novels,the spatiotemporal structure of Li Zishu’s novels’metaphors,and the inherent cultural and psychological structure of Li Zishu’s novels.The profound knowledge and rich personal experience of Li Zishu have led to her intensive use of metaphors in her novels,which is very complex.Li Zishu herself has a unique attitude towards history,a reverse religious concern,and a continuous pursuit of innovation and self-improvement.It is precisely these that nourish the germination and growth of metaphors in Li Zishu’s novels invisibly.Therefore,it can be said that these are the reasons why Li Zishu chooses metaphors.The fifth part discusses the value of metaphor in Li Zishu’s novels and the creative promotion of literary metaphor in Li Zishu’s novels from a dialectical perspective.The sixth part is the conclusion,summarizing and reviewing the content of the entire text,expressing expectations for the research community to further enrich the metaphor research in Li Zishu’s novels.
