Li Zishu’s novels always tell folk stories from the perspective of folk,mold very typical folk characters,explore their folk power,and naturally show the original folk life.In this paper,from the perspective of "folk",to study Li Zishu’s novel creation characteristics.The whole paper adopts the logical thinking of "why to write","what to write"."how to write" and "how to write".Apart from the introduction and conclusion,the text has five chapters.The first section summarizes the research status of Li Zishu’s novels.The second section will explain the research perspective of this paper,the reason for the topic selection and the value of the topic selection,which reflects the problem consciousness of the creation of this paper.The third section will integrate Zhong Jingwen and Wan Jianzhong’s definition of folk concept to define the concept of folk writing in Li Zishu’s novels."Folk" under Li Zishu’s pen is neither a literary trend of thought nor a literary school,but a creative element.The first chapter mainly traces the reasons of folk writing in Li Zishu’s novels from the three factors of individual,society and culture.On a personal level,Li Zishu was born into a civilian family in MCA.Ten years of working as a journalist made Li Zishu deeply involved in MCA civil society,thus forming a conscious awareness of the stance of the people.From the perspective of society,the Chinese society is a mixed place where many ethnic groups live together and multiple cultures coexist,which has influenced Li Zishu’s novel folk creation imsubtly.From the perspective of culture,Li Zi Shu is deeply influenced by Chinese and foreign folk literature.She not only continuously draws the essence of magic realism literature from Borges and Marquez to cultivate self-creation,but also is deeply influenced by the ancient Chinese folk novels such as Water Margin.She is fascinated by Jin Yong’s wuxia novels that present rivers and lakes and folk,and consciously learns from the modern and contemporary Chinese writers such as Su Tong,Mo Yan and Yu Hua,which shows that Chinese and foreign folk writing has nourished her literary creation.In second chapter explains the concrete expression of folk culture in Li Zishu’s novels from the perspectives of material folk custom,social folk custom and belief folk custom.In the first section,the survival and life of the MCA folk is viewed from the material folk customs.The scene depiction of the market space presents the family environment and collective environment on which the MCA people live.The mixture of various Nanyang food and traditional Chinese food reflects the food culture of the MCA folk.The second section is to look at the folk customs of MCA from the perspective of social folklore.Wedding and funeral festivals,recreational activities and people’s names all contain strong folk customs of MCA.The third section shows the pluralism of MCA folk religions from the belief folk customs,and "disenchantment" is carried out on the religions that are mystified and sacred.In short,Li Zishu’s novel presents a Chinese folk "genre painting".The third chapter analyzes the folk characters in Li Zishu’s novels,which are mainly divided into three categories: alien characters,pathological images and symbolic images,highlighting the complexity,root defects and tenacity of the MCA folk characters respectively.The marginalized alien images in this paper refer to other alien ethnic groups for the Chinese ethnic group,which can be divided into Malay ethnic groups and other ethnic groups.The immigrant ethnic groups include Indians,Japanese and British,etc.The multi-racial coexistence is the result of political turmoil during the colonial period of Malaysia,which reflects the complexity of the generation of MCA folk figures.The pathological images of dehumanization can be divided into the ugly father image and the naughty mother image.In the short stories of Li Zishu,she depicted a large number of distorted and alienated pathological characters,so as to reveal the characteristics of the malevolent people and the evil root of human beings.Symbolized female images can be divided into allegorical images and divine images.The representative figure of allegorical images is Du Lian,the heroine in the Age of Farewell.Li Zishu allegorizes the development history of MCA society after the May 13 Incident with the growth history of female individuals.The representative figure of the divine image is Gu Yinxia,the heroine of "Common Ground".Li Zishu endows the image of the blind woman with "dark consciousness" highlighting the divine brilliance on her body.In a word,Li Zishu’s novels also depict the "common characteristics" of the Chinese people.Chapter four analyzes the artistic strategy of folk narration in Li Zishu’s novels from the aspect of form.One is the unique use of perspective.Li Zishu is good at using ghost perspective,and perspective switching to narrate,realizing the organic combination of omniscient perspective and restricted perspective.The other is the use of complex structures,using the Russian doll model and spider network model,the use of narrative techniques,writing novels like a multi-voice chorus.Third,the novel renders a large number of folk mysterious colors,the novel into ghosts and phantoms,wizards and taoists,civet cats and beasts and other mysterious images,in order to create a mysterious and full of spirituality of the Chinese people.Therefore,Li Zishu’s novels show the "story" of the Chinese folk.The fifth chapter summarizes the folk writing value of Li Zishu’s novels from the three dimensions of readers,writers and literary history.From the perspective of readers,the Chinese folk writing in Li Zishu’s novels broadens readers’ vision of reading folk literature,aestheticizes the Chinese folk life,and inspires readers to reflect on the modernity of the folk.The folk is corruptive and has its own lively primitive vitality.From the perspective of the writer,Li Zishu’s folk writing of the MCA has realized the wish to set up a biography for the township,realized the "grand plan" of the writer’s local Chronicles,and expressed the author’s humanitarian concern for the plight of the little people in the MCA civil society.From the perspective of literary history,the folk writing in Li Zishu’s novels has realized the shift of the focus of MCA literature from national narration to daily narration.To sum up,the folk writing of Li Zishu’s novels presents a threefold value system. |
