Abstract/Summary:
A Grand Canal, half of Chinese history. In the long years of change and historical evolution, the Grand Canal nurtures thousands of towns and trillions of people along the canal, and nourishes the generation of multiculturalism. The valuable and rich folk cultural wealth along the coast has also become an important carrier of China’s material culture, spiritual culture and institutional culture. As an important means of recording Chinese folk culture, the Grand Canal documentary takes the folk characters and stories close to the public life as the main body, and takes the rich and diverse audio-visual language and creative methods as the object, which has gradually become one of the most popular documentary types in China. It selects the distinctive folk symbols of cities along the coast-material folklore, social folklore, spiritual folklore and language folklore, etc.,uses images for artistic expression, and then spreads through cultural media based on mass media and network media, strengthening the generation of folk culture and national cultural identity mechanism. This paper takes the folk culture in the theme of the Grand Canal as the research object, and uses folklore, sociology, semiotics, video narratology and other multi-dimensional disciplines as theoretical support to explore the construction process of folk culture in the special cultural media of the Grand Canal documentary. The research focus of this paper is divided into four parts:The first part combs and defines the scope of China’s Grand Canal documentary and folk culture, the folk culture presented in the documentary is summarized and sorted out with the coastal city as the main line;the second part analyzes the principle and function of cultural media in social construction, and points out that the Grand Canal cultural documentary needs to cross the three realities of symbolic reality, objective reality and subjective reality to construct its folk culture,so as to emphasize the importance of such documentary to carry forward and inherit Chinese folk culture. The third part explores how the Grand Canal documentary realizes the ’memory awakening’ of folk culture by using symbolic objects to cross symbolic reality, how to use audio-visual language and text narrative to cross objective reality to realize the ’cultural strengthening ’ of folk culture, and how to realize the ’ cultural identity ’ through typical objects, local experience and individual spirit to cross subjective reality;the fourth part reflects on the difficulties and problems encountered in the presentation of folk culture in the Grand Canal documentary, points out the promotion path for future generations to refer to,and summarizes its influence and value on the development of folk culture. The documentary on the Grand Canal not only strengthens its own cultural heritage and aesthetic meaning, but also uses the impact of new technology and cultural media to turn technology into a weapon, providing new channels and new ways for the visual expression of folk culture. On the basis of maintaining the original culture,it strengthens the connotation value of national culture, enhances the public ’s sense of identity of the Chinese nation and the stability of Chinese cultural pride, and realizes the resonance of humanistic emotions, thus promoting the spread of China’s excellent traditional culture and establishing the cultural self-confidence of the Chinese people.Through the research of the above key chapters, the author finally concludes that the presentation and expression of folk culture in the Grand Canal documentary is an important means to establish the cultural self-confidence of the Chinese people and the value guidance of the national cultural identity mechanism of our country.
