Since the Covid-19 outbreak,online teaching has been widely adopted around the world,due to the requirements of Covid-19 prevention and control.Previously,college students at home and in-service personnel have been paying more and more attention to overseas education programs.As an important form of international exchanges and cooperation in higher education among China and other countries,Sino-foreign education is developing in full swing.In order to promote the exchange and communication between teachers and students in the online classrooms,the role of class interpreter came into being.This is a practice report on the consecutive interpreting in MBA courses.The interpreting task of the reporter is to interpret for one of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program: MBA-related courses in University of the Visayas.This report selects some interpreting examples in the project as the object of case analysis,discusses the accent,equipment or network connection problems in remote classes and other problems encountered in interpreting practice,and proposes solutions and corresponding interpretation strategies by analyzing typical interpreting examples,such as listening to English audio with various accents to upgrade listening comprehension,build-up professional terminology database of various MBA courses,so as to improve interpretation quality in future practice.The report first introduces the background of the project and then in Chapter one,it illustrates the background information of the class interpreting task,including the topic,features,and the background information of the students;followed by analyzing the problems and challenges from three major perspectives,and then the causes of these problems and challenges in Chapter two.And Chapter three explores coping strategies of the challenges mentioned in Chapter Two respectively,based on the conceptual framework: the reporter holds the thought that inerpreters should always put practicability first(meet the expectations of the audiences),and be loyal and respectful to other participants in every interpreting project,which is inspired by Nord’s “Functionality Plus Loyalty”.At last,the reporter draws a conclusion: to accomplish a class interpreting project successfully,an interpreter should make sufficient preparations before interpreting,consistent daily practice for language processing,and always be aware of the non-linguistic barriers.Finally,the reporter hopes to make an in-depth analysis by comparing the instant response in the classroom and the best interpreting strategy,and writing the practice report,to learn her own strengths and weaknesses,so that she can respond rapidly to similar challenges in the future and improve the quality of interpretation,make some progress.
